SSL For Free - www.sslforfree.com - courtesy of not-for-profit CA letsencrypt.org

During a conversation about digital certificates it was remarked about how expensive a proper certificate is and I suppose it depends on the level of diligence, here is an explainer (N.B. written by SSL vender GlobalSign; and also here.

However, I have been tipped www.sslforfree.com for free SSL certificates issued by letsencrypt.org the first non-profit CA which claims its free SSL certificates are trusted in 99.9% of all major browsers.

This is worth knowing because of (a) renewal costs, recurring revenue for CAs is a recurring expense for you and (b) more involved DNS configurations often require multiple certificates, so a single certificate can restrict your DNS schema design.
